Installing Net Print/400 PTFs
Once you have the PTF save file on the AS/400, you may load and apply the PTF.
You will use the normal OS/400 commands of LODPTF and APYPTF.
Note: Make sure all Net Print/400 activities are stopped before
proceeding with the load and apply of PTFs.
To load the PTF, use the command:
LODPTF LICPGM(7NETPRT) DEV(*SAVF) SELECT(<PTF identifier>) RLS(V1R0M0) SAVF( <library>/<filename> )
The <library> and <filename> is the library and save file
name on the AS/400.
To apply the PTF, use the command:
APYPTF LICPGM(7NETPRT) RLS(V1R0M0) SELECT(<PTF identifier>)
The NP1001 PTF
This PTF has been superceded by PTF NP1002.
What this PTF does:
Support for displaying spooled files in double-byte (Japanese). This
will allow for DBCS reports to be viewed when using the MFRTYPMDL
(*HTML) option to view reports at the browser.
A problem has been fixed where Net Print/400 would not work when used
with Webulator/400, and Webulator PTF WBL200020.
Support for displaying spooled files as web pages. We have added a new
MFRTYPMDL option - "*VIEWHTML" to view reports that contain html as a
true webpage at the browser. Previously, special characters that would
normally be associated with html were specially encoded to show each
special character at the browser. For example, "<P>" would be changed
to "<P>" to show the less than and greater than signs as text on
the browser. This new enhancement permits this combination to be
viewed as a paragraph break. The shipped net.data macro will need to
be modified to include *VIEWHTML as a printer option. Note that
*VIEWHTML is regarded as a printer option, not a view option.

The NP1002 PTF
This PTF has been superceded by PTF NP1003.
What this PTF does:
The ability to display spooled files with a printer device type of
*AFPDS (only supported in English). You can now display (in addition
to printing) *AFPDS reports that have page segments and overlays
attached, with these restrictions:
- If you have an overlay attached to a *AFPDS spooled file, and that overlay contains a page segment, the page segment must be in a library that is in your servers library list (if you use Net Print/400 in CGI mode), or in a library that is in your Webulator/400 library list.
- Net Print/400 will only display text at the browser. In other words no graphics, or pictures will be displayed.
Memory limitations with regards to the size of spooled files being
processed have been modified to accommodate spooled files that are
unusually large due to the attachment of page segment/overlays.
If the user chooses "*DEVD" in the Manufacturer Type and Model
parameter, a check is made to see if the corresponding Printer Device
that the user chooses exists.
Added code to enforce the special values of the Manufacturer Type and
Model parameter. For example, if you put in a Manufacture Type and
Model, and a WSCST object, the Manufacturer Type and Model will be
used, and the WSCST object will be ignored. If you specify *WSCST and
include both WSCST object and device description parameter data, the
WSCST object will be used and the device description will be ignored.
Changed the methods used to provide content type information to the
browser, this allows for certain variations when used with
Webulator/400 2.0.
This PTF requires Webulator/400 2.0 PTF WBL200023.
This PTF supersedes the previous PTF NP1001.

The NP1003 PTF
This PTF has been superceded by PTF NP1004.
What this PTF does:
Corrects a previous error in the displaying of spooled files containing
double-byte (Japanese) data at the browser.
This PTF requires Webulator/400 2.0 PTF WBL200023.
This PTF supersedes the previous PTF's NP1001, and NP1002.

The NP1004 PTF
This PTF has been superceded by PTF NP1005.
What this PTF does:
Corrects a previous error in the displaying of spooled files from european
AS/400's with certain system value CHRID's.
This PTF requires Webulator/400 2.0 PTF WBL200023.
This PTF supersedes the previous PTF's NP1001,NP1002, and NP1003.
PTF identifier: 1NP1004
PTF file location:
ftp://ftp.inetmi.com/pub/netprint/Q1NP1004.savf
The NP1005 PTF
This PTF has been superceded by PTF NP1006.
What this PTF does:
A problem has been fixed where special or multinational characters
were not displayed properly when viewed at the browser using
MFRTYPMDL(*HTML). The print results from the Host Print Transform were
in a different ASCII CCSID than what was expected by the browser. This
PTF converts the data to ASCII CCSID 819, which is understandable by
the browser.
A problem has been fixed where, under certain circumstances, underline
and bold characters were not shown as bold or underline when viewed at
the browser - they were duplicated later in the report display. This
is a result of methods used by the Host Print Transform that initiate
over-printing of lines (print a line and then print it again to insert
the underline or make characters bold) at the printer. This PTF
recognizes this situation and inserts the appropriate bold and
underline characters.
This PTF requires Webulator/400 2.0 PTF WBL200023.
This PTF supersedes the previous PTF's NP1001,NP1002, NP1003, and NP1004.
PTF identifier: 1NP1005
PTF file location:
ftp://ftp.inetmi.com/pub/netprint/Q1NP1005.savf
The NP1006 PTF
This PTF has been superceded by PTF NP1007.
What this PTF does:
A problem has been fixed where certain lines in a report were not
displayed properly when viewed at the browser using
MFRTYPMDL(*HTML). The print results from the Host Print Transform
included overprinting for these lines, which included replacement
characters (print a valid character in place of a space) and no bold
or underlines. This is typically exibited by missing characters in a
line and portions of two lines that are strung together and viewed on
the same HTML line. This was particularly evident after the
installation of PTF NP1005. When printed to a printer (not using
MFRTYPMDL(*HTML)), the report is printed normally.
A problem has been fixed where Japanese double-byte characters were
not displayed properly when viewed at the browser using
MFRTYPMDL(*HTML). The content/mime type sent to the browser included
the wrong charset string (it should have been ISO-2022-JP instead of
Shift-JIS). This error was introduced in PTF NP1005.
This PTF requires Webulator/400 2.0 PTF WBL200023.
This PTF supersedes the previous PTF's NP1001,NP1002, NP1003, NP1004, and NP1005.

The NP1007 PTF
What this PTF does:
A problem has been fixed where certain special characters that are
typically included in an HTML document (particularly the less-than <
and greater-than > symbols) are removed when viewing a report using
the MFRTYPMDL(*VIEWHTML) option of the SNDSPLFNP command. This error
causes reports that are generated specifically to be displayed as an
HTML page to be viewed in error, because the tags within the report
are changed from something like "<HTML>" to "HTML".
This PTF requires Webulator/400 2.0 PTF WBL200023.
This PTF supersedes the previous PTF's NP1001,NP1002, NP1003, NP1004, NP1005,
and NP1006.
