Error Log Cycle Configuration
Describes how to cycle the error log.
This can either be a number from 1-31 representing a day-of-the month date or
one of the following key words:
If this parameter is missing, cycling will be turned off.
- Cycle at the beginning of the month. This is the same as a 1.
- Cycle at the end of the month.
- Cycle on Monday.
- Cycle on Tuesday
- Cycle on Wednesday
- Cycle on Thursday
- Cycle on Friday
- Cycle on Saturday
- Cycle on Sunday
- Cycle on a per-day basis.
- Cycle on the day of the month the server was started.
This can either be
ServerStart, meaning the time the server
was started or a time of the format HH:MM:SS. The seconds
are optional and valid hours are from 00 to 23.
This specifies how long to wait between cycles and is combined with the
Date/Units field. For instance, with a period of 2 and a Date/Units of 3,
cycling will occur every two months on the third of the month. If the
Date/Units were changed to Saturday, cycling would occur every two weeks
on a Saturday.
This is the maximum number of files to keep when cycling. When this number
is exceeded, old files will be deleted when new files are created while

By default, cycling is not enabled.
Command To Change This Value
ErrorLogCycle Date/Units Time Period MaxFiles
Only one entry may exist in the
master server configuration file.
If more than one entry is found, the last one will be used.
