MIGWWWUSR - Migrate Stream Users to Database

User authentication allows for the limitation of access to server data to a pre-defined list of users or groups of users. User information can be stored in either a stream file or a database file. The MIGWWWUSR command allows for the migration of user information from the traditional stream file storage to a database user file. This will be typically executed during the conversion from stream to database operations when upgrading Web Server/400 from version 1.1 or 1.2 to a higher version that allows the database user file option.

The parameters associated with the WRKWWWUSR command are:

USRINFILE - Input (Stream) File
Specifies the stream user file to retrieve user information from. This user information will be processed and migrated to the database file specified in USROUTFILE.
This is the name of the file that contains users. Each line in the file will consist of one user name followed by a colon (':') and then the user's password.
USROUTFILE - Output (Database) File
Specifies the database user file that will receive the migrated user information. It should be entered in the usual IFS style ('/QSYS.LIB/LIBRARY.LIB/FILENAME.FILE/MEMBER.MBR').
TEXTPSWD - Text Password - needs encoding
Specifies whether the incoming passwords (in the stream file) are text or not. If they are contained as plain text they will be converted and encoded as they would be if newly added using the ADDWWWUSR command.
Valid Values:
- *YES
  Incoming passwords are stored as plain text and are to be converted and encoded before being written in the database file.
  The Master Configuration File name and path are also required during the encoding process to determine the password storage method (PSWDSTG parameter of the CHGWWWCFG command) for the conversion.
- *NO
  Incoming passwords are already encoded and are to be written "as is" in the database file.
The default for this parameter is *NO.

Authorizing a User to MIGWWWUSR

A user that does not have *ALLOBJ special authority must be authorized as follows to run the MIGWWWUSR command:

*USE authority to QSYS/MIGWWWUSR *CMD
*USE authority to WWWSERVER/WWWGUMCP *PGM
*USE authority to WWWSERVER/WWWGHCMD *PNLGRP
*CHANGE authority to server configuration files
