How to Configure the Server
You can configure Web Server/400 through commands or by
editing files directly.
Configuring the Server Through Commands
Changing configuration through commands is recommended because
the system can validate information as you enter it and help to eliminate
mistakes.
Configuring the Server by Editing Configuration Files
You may also edit configuration files directly, using any editor.
You must take care that the server has authority to read the files. By
default, the server runs as WWWUSER. If you are editing the files with a PC
editor (e.g. EPM, NOTEPAD, EDIT), you may find that the editor writes first
to a temporary file, then renaming the temporary file over the original file.
This scheme will cause authority information to be lost for the configuration
file and Web Server/400 may not be able to read it. Here is information about
the configuration file contents and syntax.
